Flexible Income
Income needs change through retirement. When you start it can be one long holiday, then life slows down a bit and the need of income changes. It would be nice to have a crystal ball to tell us how long we need to plan for in retirement, but the truth is that none of us know. What we do know is that we're all living longer these days, and the last thing that we want is to run out of money in retirement.
Most people underestimate how long their retirement will be. This is a good calculator from the Office for National Statistics that shows the range of life expectancy for your age group.
